Saynta – On Your Mind (2024)
While producer Saynta’s debut single ‘On Your Mind’ only hit the virtual shelves a couple of months ago, the UK-based artist is already turning heads across the London music scene. Making waves with his exciting psychedelic sound, Saynta’s versatility and innovation have him carving a niche in the music industry both in the UK and beyond. Working with various talented musicians, his sound not only embraces the electronic element but incorporates the diverse styles of his fellow musicians. Join me as I turn up the volume with Saynta’s ‘On Your Mind’.
Produced with Kelly Munro, ‘On Your Mind’ is a soothing rush of electropop; however, just as there is a gentle, mellifluous element lingering in the track, the pulsating beats hint at something sharper, brasher and more “in your face”. Ready for the dancefloor, a delicious wrap of music immerses listeners in a kaleidoscopic sonic swirl. The up-tempo tone matched with fairy lights flitting about has you lost in the warm sound; it quickly seeps into your soul and ensnares your senses. Yet, as I mentioned, while there is a state of bliss, a reflective dash of vulnerability creeps in.
‘On Your Mind’ might appear a typical electronic production flooded with pop sounds, yet Saynta’s experimental nature drives a sheen of funk beneath the electronic veil. Groovy beats combine with the chillwave tone giving the track a genre-diverse edginess. For me, the melody is fantastic in its all-consuming nature… but the poetic lyrics enhance the sound.
Using Adom’s silvery vocals, ‘On Your Mind’ tackles powerful love and yearning. The lines, “every breath, every beat, with you feels so complete” and “tell me that you feel it too, heart beats in a rhythm tune” elegantly capture the all-consuming rush of raw passion beating boldly in a lover’s heart.
In addition to the single, Saynta released an official music video for ‘On Your Mind’. The video can be viewed below or on his YouTube channel. Please note that this video uses lighting effects that can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. Viewer discretion is strongly advised.
