Femmes of Rock @ Bensalem, Pennsylvania (17.05.24)

There is that certain flair with women in the world of rock these days from fronting a successful band to adding soaring guitar solos to hit-making songs that seem to bring a whole new meaning of excitement, especially if you are a musician, and share that same adrenaline. It’s not just the harder-edge women in music that have captivated both our visual senses and our musical melodies, some have been in the limelight for decades and others are just coming around for the first time or perhaps a second helping of interlude of music and that is Femmes of Rock.

We often think about the classically trained individuals who can bring the energy and the excitement of the electric violins and the cello combined that surround four ladies raising the bar by taking orchestral music to a whole new level beyond the depths of classic rock. Femmes in Rock is a sensational classic rock act that is taking stages across America and not only embracing the entertainment of orchestral music with a harder-edge rock style that sets them apart from a traditional all-girl group.

These four ladies have been winning over fans of classic rock for years. When you think about it, they do it quite well live as many filled seats at the Xcite Center in Bensalem, Pennsylvania for a two-hour-plus show where many were overwhelmed by how well they performed some of the greatest melodies in music. You think for a moment, is this a cover band or some tribute act like many out there in somewhat of a fashion sense they are, but they bring to the table one hell of a classic rock show demonstrating the electric violin carries a well in doubt high decibel range of entertainment which makes these four girls true to top-notch talent sharing the stage feeding off each other musically.

Their set list featured a 13-minute segment to The Who as well a wide range of music to wet anyone’s taste buds from Ozzy’s ‘Crazy Train’ to Eddie Van Halens’ unforgettable ‘Eruption’ that featured a mind-blowing segment with leading lady Nina Di Gregorio paying tribute to one of the most influenced melodies of all time.
It wasn’t just the great classics from our beloved bands that made this show unique and special, it was the interludes of the synched videos of certain musicians past or present that have shaped the music that it has, making this show worth every single moment from start to finish at Xcite Center.

Overall, a true spectacle of talent by not just four individuals in the limelight, but the entire presentation of music leaves you rethinking how well the cellos and five or six-string violins can recreate unforgettable solos in the world’s greatest moments in rock.
