Geena Gangi – Sincerely (2024)

With a natural gift for storytelling, singer-songwriter Geena Gangi connects with audiences through her poetic rhymes. Engulfing charming words with heartfelt melodies, US-based Gangi both soothes and stimulates your mind. The budding songstress made her way to our virtual pages in 2021 with ‘Luna’, then continued tantalising our ears in 2022 with ‘Sugar Stained’. Traversing various flavours of contemporary pop, her brand flits from electronic to alternative pop each one sprinkling sunshine into our day. Following ‘Sugar Stained (3 am Version)’, Geena Gangi elegantly dances into 2024 with her new single ‘Sincerely’.

Recorded with writing partner and producer Josh “Yesh” Zegan, ‘Sincerely’ is a rush of smooth pop music gliding across your face. The combination of bold beats flushes beneath a sprinkle of warm synths crashing in a moving pop ballad. Silky and tender with its flowing ripples, ‘Sincerely’ is a breath-taking song and the piano brings a classical lilt to the symphonic single.

The melody can intoxicate one pulling you down into the kaleidoscopic sonic stream, but it is Gangi’s vocals that keep you afloat. Slithering through the music, her dulcet vocals are a silvery thread shimmering along the surface. While there is a sense of vulnerability peaking in her voice, the crystal clarity of its execution removes any fragility leaving ‘Sincerely’ a pure, wholesome piece of work.

Love songs are not all sunshine and roses – some have you sobbing from the pain, confusion and desperation. In fact, the most beautiful melodies can be the most brutal tearing you down in a glistening haze of sound; ‘Sincerely’ is not one of these. Capturing the hopeful, optimistic, joyous side of the love coin, ‘Sincerely’ clips at the tenderness of two hearts joining in blissful union. Geena Gangi explains:

“I wrote this song thinking about a couple who was just married and about to have their first dance. Although, they’re both a little awkward and are really nervous for that attention. I wanted to make a love song that would not only be heartfelt but also really easy to just sort of sway along to if you’re a little shy.”
