Corvyx – Unstoppable (2024)

Last year I came across the Brazilian musician Dan Vasc – an artist with a penchant for covers tipped in his hard rock tone. I was astonished, particularly as he covers everything from Evanescence to Simon and Garfunkel. I thought I had heard it all until I listened to Corvyx. Known for his enigmatic presence and breathtaking sound, the US-based artist proves himself an “undeniable visionary and a new musical force” in the world of dark pop.

In 2013, Corvyx began weaving his web of enchanting sounds with his debut of Evanescence’s ‘My Immortal’. Skip ahead and we have intoxicating covers of 30 Seconds To Mars’s ‘The Kill’, Eurythmics ‘Sweet Dreams’, Tears For Fears ‘Shout’, Paramore’s ‘Decode’, and Seal’s ‘Kiss From A Rose’ – each time turning more heads and building a strong following across the globe. The latest addition to his discography is the single ‘Unstoppable’.

Following his version of Evanescence’s ‘Bring Me To Life’, a challenging song to cover in its own right, Corvyx ups the ante with Sia’s ‘Unstoppable’. With his four-and-a-half octave vocal range, Corvyx can sing as a rich baritone, as well as hitting those falsetto notes. If you take a quick listen to ‘Bring Me To Life’, you would swear that was Amy Lee with Paul McCoy. In ‘Unstoppable’, Corvyx hits notes to once again question if the male vocals are accompanied by a separate female artist – it’s all Corvyx.

Quickly establishing himself as a prominent figure in the music industry, Corvyx’s cover of ‘Unstoppable’ is not only soul-stirring but proof of his versatility, flexibility and awe-inspiring showmanship. As with many of his covers, he remains true to the heart of the original; however, he places a unique twist to capture the core of the anthem with a distinctive Corvyx flair. He explains that “reimagining ‘Unstoppable’ has been an incredible experience. I knew it was time to reimagine this anthem…reinvigorate people’s spirits…” A true gem in a world of musical pebbles, I become lost his music and am eager to hear more.

In addition to the single, Corvyx released a music video for ‘Unstoppable’. You can view the video below or on his official YouTube channel.
