Tom Speight – Tomorrow (2023)

When Sir Paul McCartney says he “wouldn’t change a thing” about a musician, then you can be sure that musician is something special… enter Tom Speight. Since his first release in 2016, Tom Speight has turned heads across the globe with his tender, heart-warming and relatable songs. Featured in notable publications like The Independent, Music News, The Times, The Telegraph and Clash Magazine, his sound has made waves across the blogosphere (and the paper copies if you read newspapers). He has also performed with the likes of Stereophonics, Maisie Peters and James Bay, while having his music featured in hit shows like The Voice, Strictly Come Dancing, To All The Boys, MasterChef and Love Island. Come with us as we dip into his single ‘Tomorrow’.

Taken off his upcoming album Love & Light (set for release in August via Nettwerk Music), Speight’s millions of listeners (and he has at least 1 million monthly listeners on all streaming platforms) can expect a breathtaking elegance and sincere tenderness in ‘Tomorrow’. As part of an album paying homage to “love, loss, and hope…”, Speight draws on his personal experiences and emotions as inspiration.

“’Tomorrow’ is a special song for me. It was inspired by several things…personally, for me, it’s about my health! The hope things will get better…” – Tom Speight on ‘Tomorrow’

Diagnosed with Chron’s Disease 10 years ago, ‘Tomorrow’ explores the uncertainty of living with a chronic illness. We live in a world of instability with complete uncertainty about our futures, and this can be terrifying. Given the state of the world with natural disasters, climate change, political upheaval, as well as increasing mental and physical health challenges, any reasonable person would predict a plunge into chaos. Tom Speight pushes the idea of hopefulness and optimism instead of a descent into despair – and he shares this through ‘Tomorrow’.

Soothing and soft with a mellifluous flow to its delicate arrangement, ‘Tomorrow’ embraces you in a warm hug and leads you to a shining light in the distance. Speight’s dulcet vocals enhance the richness of the track with a leaning toward Tom Odell; however, his music has a signature sound that is exclusively Tom Speight. Weaving folk-pop around poetic lyricism, there is a gentle vibe within thought-provoking words.

Sincere, sentimental, heart-warming, soul-stirring and brimming with optimism, Tom Speight shares his hopeful single ‘Tomorrow’.
