Elion Melody – The Way That You Are (2023)

Embracing his passion for music at a young age, singer-songwriter Elion Melody was the lead singer for several church events and played the drums during church services. Yet, it was only much later on when Melody began pursuing this musical journey releasing original material in 2020. From his debut single ‘Stop Playing’ to the most recent release ‘The Way That You Are’, Melody has received critical acclaim from various publications (including us!). Referred to as a “multi-stylistic artist”, it is impossible to categorise the US-based artist…all we know is people love his music.

The first single from his upcoming debut album, ‘The Way That You Are’ is, essentially, a love song. On the heels of ‘Who Do You Love?’, the new single kicks that hip-hop-inspired sound to the side adopting something softer, smoother and soul-influenced. Melding contemporary soul with old-school R&B in a laid-back pop sonic pool, Melody shares something chilled-out but with an intimate intensity creeping through the track. Add his soft vocals and you have something lying between Boyz II Men and Jamie Foxx.

A very special song for Elion Melody, ‘The Way That You Are’ encapsulates the beauty of love in its charming tune. Melody explains that this single was penned for the wedding of his best friend expressing the strong emotions in that relationship.

“Crafted with extreme care, ‘The Way That You Are’ encompasses how much genuine love endures, heals and prospers. This song was inspired by and created for the wedding of my best friend… Watching their relationship transcend into such a spectacular event has been no other than heart-warming and motivating…” – Elion Melody on ‘The Way That You Are’

Sophisticated and elegant, ‘The Way That You Are’ flows through your veins. Yet, while sophistication exists, a rawness quivers in Melody’s vocals bringing a heartfelt vulnerability to the single. As a personal trainer, Melody heals people’s bodies, but it is through his music that he heals their souls.
