Stirred By Life – Fallen (2023)

Inspired by life in its entirety, singer-songwriter Stirred By Life is just that: stirred by life. Embracing the good, bad and ugly, this UK-based artist creates something moving, heartfelt and intimate for listeners to enjoy. Perhaps enjoyment isn’t the correct word. While the melodies should be enjoyed, they are vulnerable, tender and are a deeper connection than mere enjoyment. Come with us as we delve into Stirred By Life’s single ‘Fallen’.

The debut single from Stirred By Life, ‘Fallen’ is a single reflecting the darker emotions we experience in life. Looking at hardship, challenging situations and the difficult experiences we try to avoid, ‘Fallen’ is filled with vulnerability, desperation, anguish, pain and isolation. Yet, while the song has a darkness in its expression leaning toward a hopeless tragedy, it is actually a song of empowerment and optimism. Despite the pain slithering through the indie-folk single, a light at the end of the tunnel shines brightly.

“Most people go through some form of hardship at some point in their life and sometimes it’s hard to keep going, but we are all more resilient than we think and somehow, we can get to the other end stronger and wiser…I dedicate ‘Fallen’ to everyone who is going through challenging times. May you find the strength to keep going and the faith that one day you’ll come out at the other end.” – Stirred By Life on ‘Fallen’

Just as the lyricism is filled with intense intimacy, the melody adds to these powerful emotions with its melancholic tune. An acoustic single, ‘Fallen’ is penned and performed by Daren Reece Lamberton with Stephen Boyce-Buckley producing the single. One of the aspects which makes ‘Fallen’ so soul-stirring is the inclusion of orchestral strings. Written by Boyce-Buckley and violinist Andrew Price, the string section brings a skin-chilling haunting woven into the arrangement.

The first track from Stirred In Life’s upcoming concept EP, ‘Fallen’ begins the emotional journey with its line between despair and hope; however, the songs are not all doom and gloom. Coming out on the other side of ‘Fallen’, Stirred By Life helps us begin trusting again, celebrating newfound love and exploring the wonderment of life.
