LOZ – Don’t Wanna Be Reminded (2023)

With the aim to provide “an unrelenting energy, optimism and sense of adventure…”, singer-songwriter LOZ has a reputation for engaging, tender and relatable music. Embracing his passion for music at a young age, the Manchester-based artist began producing music in his teens, started singing at college, and now is an independent artist to be admired. Drawing inspiration for life in its entirety, both his and others, LOZ connects with audiences on a deeper level. The latest addition to his discography is the single ‘Don’t Wanna Be Reminded’.

Hot on the heels of his well-received track ‘It’s Gonna Be Okay’, LOZ hits us once again with a heartfelt pop ballad in ‘Don’t Wanna Be Reminded’. Carrying on from his intimate previous material, LOZ once again looks at difficult life situations exploring past relationships in the new single.

“’Don’t Wanna Be Reminded’ is a tear-jerking, breath-taking ballad telling the story of past relationships resurfacing and the struggle that comes with leaving them behind…the opening line being: ‘6 months down the line, you drop a message saying, ‘I’m free if you are’…sets the scene for the context leaving no listener behind.” – LOZ on ‘Don’t Wanna Be Reminded’

As with Ed Sheeran, the writing style is a personal narrative telling a tale in a tender, vulnerable way.  Interestingly enough, while ‘Don’t Wanna Be Reminded’ has a soft arrangement combining piano, drums and LOZ’s dulcet vocals, there is a kaleidoscopic simplicity taking you to another plain of being in a three-minute sonic package. It is here that LOZ illustrates his uniqueness – ensnaring your senses and hitting you between the eyes with a soothing, mellifluous tune. Like life, in a way.

Sincere, sentimental and introspective, LOZ sends chills down your spine in this anthemic pop single, ‘Don’t Wanna Be Reminded’.
