Gabriella – Only You (2023)

Raised in a musical family, it is no surprise that singer-songwriter Gabriella has a passion for music, particularly soul music. She shares that “…the very first time hearing Amy Winehouse’s ‘Back To Black’ was the turning point in my life, I understood the power of music and its positive effect, that’s when I realised I wanted to share this feeling with the world…” Featured on Sinusoidal Music, Iggy Magazine, Illustrate Magazine and Artisti Online, it appears Gabriella is sharing her positive melodies on a global scale. The latest addition to her discography is the single ‘Only You’.

Following her well-received debut track ‘Stranger To You’, ‘Only You’ is Gabriella’s first release in 2023. Unlike ‘Stranger To You’ which presents an electropop sound, ‘Only You’ adopts a strong jazz-inspired style. Reminiscent of Amy Winehouse in both melody and vocals, Gabriella’s sophomore single oozes a smoky vivacity intoxicating you from the first second. Jazz drums blend with a heart-aching piano underlying Gabriella’s rich, obscure voice. Interestingly enough, while there is a boldness in her dulcet tones, vulnerability is woven into the execution.

Just as the song’s melody is toe-tapping and moving, Gabriella illustrates her profoundness and depth as an artist with poetic lyricism. Connecting with audiences on an intimate level, ‘Only You’ is a tender love song. Gabriella explains that her “…hope is that people will use the song to show love and appreciation to their special someone”. With its sensuality and enchanting tones, I can easily imagine ‘Only You’ being played in one of those jazz bars like in Sade’s ‘Smooth Operator’ music video.

Sincere, sentimental and timeless, Gabriella ensnares our senses with her soul-stirring love song ‘Only You’.
