Lillvi – Down With You (2022)
In an interview with RGM, singer-songwriter Lillvi shares how she grew up in a musical household embracing her passion for music at a young age – “it all started when I was introduced to music…it was probably about the age of 5 when I realised, I could sing.” Since her early years, Lillvi began creating songs at age 10, continued to study music, moved to London to pursue a musical career, and is now releasing some critically acclaimed original melodies. Featured on RGM, Conversations About Her, Popmuzik, and various playlists/online radio, this Swedish songstress is reaching audiences on an international scale.
Following her single ‘Liquid Attraction’, Lillvi adopts an experimental fusion of synth-pop, electropop and disco in her song ‘Down With You’. Reminiscent of Lady Gaga and Dua Lipa, but with a Kylie Minogue meets Cindi Lauper vocal execution, ‘Down With You’ sprinkles kaleidoscopic pop atop a set of powerful and hard-hitting beats. While there is a distortion in the textured composition, a soft, soothing and calming flow can be felt in the tune. It is as if she grasps you by the collar with a rough tone but simultaneously sends your soul soaring with sonic warmth.
With an aim to make music that appeals to all audiences, Lillvi adds a personal narrative in the intimate (albeit harsh) single. She draws inspiration from global icons that support the LGBTQ community, such as Madonna, Lady Gaga and Kylie Minogue, blasting a unique, sophisticated sound through our headphones. Sincere, sentimental and heartfelt, Lillvi Agnarsson explores the depths of retro pop, layers it with upbeat modern-day rhythms, and breaks out with the unique single ‘Down With You’.
