Kelsie Kimberlin – Cosmopolitan Girl (2022)

At a young age, US-based Kelsie Kimberlin knew she had a passion for music. Early on she embraced this passion by singing for choirs, participating in Yoko Ono’s Peace Project, and spending hours in music studios working on numerous original songs. These experiences greatly influenced her and now we have Kimberlin showcasing her artistry as a musician. This is my first taste of Kelsie Kimberlin, but she is already receiving praise for notable blogs like Sinusoidal Music, Find No Enemy, Daily Music Spin, Indie Band Guru, and various playlists. She is also receiving coverage from international radio stations, such as iHeart Radio and Indie Peru Radio, building a global fanbase. The latest addition to her discography is the single ‘Cosmopolitan Girl’.

If we overlook the remixes of ‘Reflection’, Kimberlin’s new single ‘Cosmopolitan Girl’ followers her well-received track ‘What We Had’. As with ‘What We Had’, Kimberlin shares a strong contemporary pop melody in ‘Cosmopolitan Girl’. Yet, unlike the previous work, this new song is far more upbeat, high-paced and toe-tapping. Tossing you into a swirl of sound, the single has you twirling about from the first chord with kaleidoscopic lights flitting before your eyes. Jovial and fun, ‘Cosmopolitan Girl’ is a summer banger made to be on repeat (even if we are heading into winter). Let’s put it this way, you might be staring out at a dreary, grey setting; however, as soon as you hit the play button ‘Cosmopolitan Girl’ makes everything brighter.

Just as she embraces her passion for music, Kelsie Kimberlin has a passion for cultures, and she expresses this in her new song. Kimberlin explains that she has “…travelled throughout the world and I wrote ‘Cosmopolitan Girl’ to express my pride in being a female who loves all cultures.” So, along with the perfect pop arrangement and energetic lyrics, Kimberlin weaves a sense of empowerment and optimism in her latest single.
