Evran – I Lie Awake at Night and Wait for You (2022)
Evran is taking us back in time to youthful nights staying up late chatting to a crush on the early versions of social media. A big pop-rock track, it traps into a sudden infatuation with someone you saw as a friend which results in you lying awake at night hoping they will log onto social media and chat with you. This is infused with the wish that they will feel the same way about you.
While there is a retro edge to the inspiration of the track, the emotions and message transcend time and are as relevant today as they were in the early 2000s. Touching on his own experiences, Evran brings a relatability to his sound that makes it easy to connect with. After falling in love with songwriting at age 13, he created this musical project in 2018 to gather his old songs and channel new inspiration into something that he is truly passionate about.
