Fiasco – Hey Man (2022)

If you need an injection of rock into your veins, Fiasco has the sound you have been looking for. With their single ‘Hey Man’, the band is blasting their way into the hearts of anyone who will listen, with an addictive rock flow accompanied by the lightest sprinklings of blues. Packed with the energy of the band that powerfully flows in their live shows, the single will shake you up, while remaining stuck in your head for days.

While the band has been writing and playing live since 2018, it was only this year that they were able to hit the studio and record their music. With this being the first of a series of releases including two EPs, the band is sure to be hitting everyone’s favourite playlist. Pumping live rock energy into your soul, this track will have you wishing the rest of their music had already been released.

‘Hey Man’ vibrates through the opening, before picking you up and tossing you into the crash of the guitars. You can feel the pure energy of the single flowing out of your speakers and sinking into your very soul. The push of the opening drops slightly for a whisper of sound, before rising beneath you again and moving your body. This is a melody that you feel the urge to move to while turning the volume up. The rise and fall of the arrangement highlights the touch of blues that has been masterfully woven into the core of the guitar movement. Halfway through the track, there is a fantastic rise in the melody that has you seriously rocking out before everything drops. The moments that are devoid of instrumentation with only the vocals are fantastic and create great texture to the track.

As you are turning up the volume to let loose to the melody, the vocals sink their talons into your chest and yank you further into the single. The delivery of the vocals is wonderfully linked to the pulsing rise and fall of the melody. When the music drops for a blues vibe, the vocals whisper along, before scratching up your spine and sending shivers through your soul. There is an addictive touch to the vocal performance that has you shouting out with the band, particularly on the chorus which is entirely too catchy for its own good. There is a maturity and sophistication to this track that you would expect from the great rock bands of the past that is utterly fantastic to hear.

Fiasco sends a wave of rock energy coursing through your soul, while getting the lyrics of ‘Hey Man’ stuck in your head with a masterful touch. The rise and fall of the melody propels you through the soundscape, while the vocals grab onto your spirit and send it soaring on rock waves. This is a seriously addictive single that you are going to want to listen to again and again.
