Dave Mohan – Arioso In Red (2022)

Constantly evolving and honing his sound, singer-songwriter Dave Mohan is not to be pigeon-holed. To define him is to try and catch a rainbow, put it in a box and stick it among similar boxes in a supply room. His work is inspired by the human condition and even that is not a black-and-white concept. Featured on The Punk Head, Sinusoidal Music, Find No Enemy, Road Music, Karl Is My Unkle, and various playlists, Mohan is turning curators’ heads along with a global audience. The latest addition to his discography is ‘Arioso In Red’.

Described by blogs as a masterpiece, elegant, poised and a love phantom (Sinusoidal Music and The Punk Head), ‘Arioso In Red’ is a heart-rendering single that will ensnare your senses. Taking inspiration from the works of the iconic composer Bach, Mohan is weaving his contemporary edginess into a classical-inspired single. Using the beauty of an orchestral backing, the piano-driven track is smooth, soothing and gentle on the ears.

Opening with a soft, flowing piano, your heart soars in a cinematic, romantic haze; however, the upbeat melody effortlessly transitions into a tender ballad to reach into your heart and send chills down your spine. Carolina de la Muela’s vocals enhance the tenderness with their charming and elegant tone. I am not ashamed to say her voice interwoven into a kaleidoscopic arrangement had me tearing up a little.

The sonic expression of exquisite elegance and beauty, Dave Mohan’s ‘Arioso In Red’ can intoxicate any listener from the first chord.
