One Stone – Am I The First (2022)
With their energetic sound and enthusiastic attitude, One Stone is a rock group that stands out in a crowd. A multi-cultural band, One Stone is comprised of four different individuals from different countries who happen to live in Japan. Filled with diversity to the brim, each individual brings a different perspective enhancing One Stone’s uniqueness. Despite having only one single on their Spotify, the lads and ladies are already turning heads with their music. Come with us as we delve into their debut single ‘Am I The First’.
Blending elements of hard rock, alternative rock and metal, ‘Am I The First’ hits you in the chest with its sonic awesomeness. Opening with a simplistic, soothing melody, you feel you are floating on a smooth sonic cloud, but don’t get too comfy. With pounding drums, bold vocals and powerful guitars, you are immediately forced into a wild whirlpool of music. Oozing hard rock, One Stone brings the old-school rock sounds of the 70s and 80s to modern-day masses. The impressive guitar solo has to be mentioned as it brings a nostalgic classic rock tinge to ‘Am I The First’.
I would compare One Stone to Led Zeppelin, AC/DC or Creedence Clearwater Revival, but I’m not sure that would be right. While there is a slight reminiscence of these iconic artists, One Stone has an originality that is completely unique. Adapting the heaviness of yesteryear with a contemporary slant gives them an eclectic edginess in the growing indie rock scene. ‘Am I The First’ is evidence of their innovation as it slithers in your ear, rattles in your brain and leaves you gasping for breath.
