I Am The Unicorn Head – All The Right Things (2022)

Formed at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, I Am The Unicorn Head is evidence of successful remote collaboration. With a taste for eclectic music, the US and UK-based pair are reaching new levels of creativity with their innovative approach. Alright, I could label them as an alternative meets indie-rock band; however, that just wouldn’t be right. The obscurity of their sound makes it impossible to pigeon-hole I Am The Unicorn Head – and I’m not the only one saying this. Featured in Rock Era Magazine, Less Than 1000 Followers, Thoughts Words Action, and BBC Introducing (to name a few), the band is reaching audiences across the globe. The latest addition to their discography is ‘All The Right Things’.

Following their track ‘Falsehoods’, ‘All The Right Things’ brings us a more psychedelic sound that will stay in your head long after it ends. One of the singles off their upcoming debut album Future Dinosaurs, ‘All The Right Things’ combines guitars and drums in a melodic blanket. The arrangement of this track is unique as the textures seem to form a fuzzy ambience, but also have a strong steadiness in the kaleidoscopic soundscape. I think the best way to describe ‘All The Right Things’ is like falling into a sonic pool face-first, but you feel comfortable in its warmth.

Far less high-paced than ‘Falsehoods’, ‘All The Right Things’ showcases I Am The Unicorn Head’s obscurity and innovation as artists. What I love about this single, and all of their other material, is how it seeps into your skin and leaves you gasping for breath…but in a good way.
