KC – Do Not Disturb (2021)

With over two decades of experience in the music industry, solo artist KC began in one genre then transitioned to another showcasing a deep devotion to his craft. Starting in the world of classical music, KC began drawing elements of various styles from pop to rock in his contemporary sound. Formerly working for the Huffington Post, the US-based musician inserts engagement and fun in each song all wrapped up in “…swooshing and glittering on gossamer textures manifested burnished intimate flares of luminosity” (quote from Huffington Post). The latest addition to his unique repertoire is the single ‘Do Not Disturb’.

Following his single ‘Phase Me’, KC adopts a heavier, more powerful electropop sound in ‘Do Not Disturb’. A melding of Justin Bieber and Charlie Puth, but with impressive keyboard content, KC showcases his eclectic ability to bring some class into dance music. I don’t mean to say that dance music is not classy, there’s just some extra flair in KC’s music.

With great clarity, KC effortlessly executes the message of inspiration and resilience with his bold vocals. While the melody itself holds a toe-tapping quality, it is the exquisite vocals that really draw me in. Dulcet tones heavy with emotion, KC uses a personal narrative to illustrate his “moving on and coming out on the other side” theme. It’s heartfelt, tender and sincere with raw honesty and a great deal of attitude. I’m not into electropop but I’m definitely placing ‘Do Not Disturb’ on my personal playlist.
