Electric High – Fire! (2021)

Are you in the mood for a song that lights a fire in your bones and keeps it roaring from start to finish? Well, you are in luck because that is exactly what the aptly titled ‘Fire!’ by Electric High does. Packed with electric power from the first note, the music thumps through you and fills you with the burning energy you never knew you were missing.

The single is a rather different take from the band’s last release which brought more easy acoustics to your ears. PV Staff (vocals), Olav Iversen (vocals), Marius Mørch (guitars), Einride Torvik (bass) and Tor Bjarne Bjelland (drums) infuse every note of the track with their high-octane energy. Drawing on the influence of bands including Black Sabbath, Wolfmother and Aerosmith, they shoot electricity into you with their unforgettable sound.

The guitars fly and the drums thump onto your chest from the first moment of ‘Fire!’. As the instruments crash into you, there is a really funky groove woven into them. This has your body moving while the energy of the band has your head bouncing to the beats. It is a melody that you can’t deny and all you can do is give in to the power and energy of it. Later in the track, there is a guitar riff that sends your brain soaring and vibrates through your bones in the best ways.

Giving the energy pumped into you some direction are the vocals. The dual lead vocals are amazing as they take you by the shoulders and toss you onto the live wire of the melody. The chorus is endlessly catchy and will have you yelling out with it. Every word of the song has been infused with an electric passion that sizzles through your soul and has you getting down to the band’s groove.

Electric High live up to their name with the high-octane energy of ‘Fire!’. The music vibrates through your body like a live wire of electricity while the vocals shake you up. You will feel the urge to sing along on the chorus and it is best to just give in and crank up the volume.
