Day Trip To Monaco – Time For You
Combining the natural musical talent of Megan Gallagher (vocals) and Alex Howley (drums and keys), Day Trip To Monaco is unique, captivating and awesome. Conceived after a collaboration on what was to be Howley’s solo EP, the group fuses funk and jazz in an innovative way. Only three months old (as of today), the duo are quite new on the scene, but despite their newness they have already featured on KCC Live Radio, Slap Mag, FV Music Blog and True Style Music.
Following their well-received self-titled EP, Day Trip To Monaco release the funky single ‘Time For You’. Initially, ‘Time For You’ was intended to be part of Howley’s solo project; however, once Gallagher added her soulful stamp it was destined for more. Recorded at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, ‘Time For You’ is soothing but with an energetic quality to the tranquility.

Executing compelling lyricism effortlessly, the warmth and richness of Gallagher’s soulful vocals can easily hypnotise any listener. Yet, I find it is the jazz-influenced guitar solo that adds a certain je ne sais quoi to ‘Devil’s Dance’. Either way, the moving single is certainly a triumph for this talented pair.
