K.LINA – Sunlight Creeping In (2020)

Hailing from Bulgaria, but currently residing in London, K.LINA is one of the most exciting alternative pop acts to pass over my virtual desk. Fusing a classic rock style with acoustic pop, K.LINE has a smooth sound with a bit of a contemporary edge. After moving to the UK in 2017, she went ahead to form an international rock ‘n’ roll group with Italian and British musicians; however, it is her solo project that makes the most of this songstress. The latest addition to her growing discography is the single ‘Sunlight Creeping In’.

Featured on notable blogs like FV Music Blog, Music By Humans and Lefuturewave, K.LINA is turning heads and capturing hearts with her soulful music. The follow-up to her well-received EP 0:0 Sanity, ‘Sunlight Creeping In’ is a melodic mixture of alternative rock with a jazzy overtone. Reminiscent of Carol King and Joan Baez, K.LINA uses simple instrumentation with bold vocals to proffer an emotional, personalised tale in her songs.

Using a melodic narrative, ‘Sunlight Creeping In’ is an effortless cinematic soundscape. A wave of wistfulness may be induced by the flowing melody, but it is K.LINA’s haunting vocals that enhance the poignancy of the track. Touching on an emotional journey of the protagonist, it is the merging of acoustic guitar, blues guitar and distinctive vocals that express pain, desperation and hopefulness. Showcasing uniqueness, ingenuity and sincerity in singing, this soulful songstress is breathtaking and refreshing in a saturated pop industry.

Side note: K.LINA has released an official music video for her track ‘Sunlight Creeping In’ which can be viewed here.
