Fly The Nest – Be Mine (2020)

Embracing the music world at a young age, Irish singer-songwriter Stephen Cooper performed in various bands before making the decision to begin a solo career. Melding elements of alternative rock with pop-rock, Cooper has developed a soulful sound as Fly The Nest – a name inspired by transitioning from previous musical endeavours and his journey as a musician.

Since the inception of Fly The Nest in 2018/2019, Cooper has grabbed the attention of a global audience receiving coverage from Indie Groove Music Blog, Hot Press and iHeart Radio (to name but a few), as well as performing regularly across Scandinavia – although gigging has been put on a bit of a hold. Known for his soulful vocals and insightful lyrics, Fly The Nest has gained a reputation for heartwarming and engaging music. The latest release from this talented individual is the single ‘Be Mine’.

Recorded and produced with Gavin Doyle in Cabin Space Studios, ‘Be Mine’ is a soothing track with moving instrumentation and sentimental lyrics. Written as a wedding present for his best friend, the track is a sincere representation of love in its purest form. While the piano, acoustic guitar and string section can pull at a person’s heartstrings, it is Cooper’s dulcet vocals that emphasise the romance behind the lyrics.

“The song is a profession and promise of love, of looking back at how far you’ve come but also forward to the future and growing old together.” – Stephen Cooper on ‘Be Mine’

An endearing and hypnotic follow-up to his acoustic single ‘One In A Million’, ‘Be Mine’ has a raw honesty that invokes the deepest emotions in a person – this one of utter devotion. It might sound crazy, but with each chord, Cooper pulls you further into the painful beauty that is pure passion and unadulterated love. If I were to be married, Fly The Nest’s ‘Be Mine’ would be the wedding song.
