Catt McCreary – Got Me Good (2020)
Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia – that’s in the USA to be exact – Catt McCreary is a soulful songstress delivering a fresh, sassy and saucy sound to the masses. Described as having an iridescent style likened to a kaleidoscope of pop, soul and hip-hop, McCreary is a natural talent taking over the pop music world by storm.
McCreary began her journey into music at a young age playing piano at the age of 5, followed by the drums, guitar and songwriting by the age of 12. Influenced by the likes of Justin Bieber, Charlie Puth and Doja Cat, she found her niche in the pop field. In 2018, she released her single ‘Grip On Me’ with an overwhelming positive feedback winning her original and new followers. With support from publications Scary Canary, Keep Walking Music and York Calling, McCreary is set to dominate the pop scene with “chant-like anthems sung with swagger”. The latest addition to her growing repertoire is ‘Got Me Good’.
Combine the vocal stylings of Jessie J with the synth-pop sound of Charlie Puth and you might come somewhere close to Catt McCreary. Filled with a badass attitude, ‘Got Me Good’ is an empowering, melodic and anthemic tune. A well-textured and layered track, ‘Got Me Good’ has both a smooth pop feel but with staccato vocals showing the power and innovativeness of McCreary. I’m not 100% sure on what to say about the track, but all I know is she’s got me good and I don’t mind at all.
