Colonel Mustard & The Dijon 5 – Ted Dancin’ (2020)

Colonel Mustard & The Dijon 5 are paying a slight homage to actor Ted Danson, but are really focused on dancing with their new single ‘Ted Dancin’’. While the song asks why we dance, you soon forget about the question as you are swept up in the funky sound explosion that is Colonel Mustard & The Dijon 5. Hopping from one genre to another, the band gets you moving and having a great time to their catchy and dance-worthy music.

The entertaining band infuses this single with their outrageous and ridiculous sense of sound. They will leave you wondering what just happened, but overwhelmingly happy that you got to experience what they have to offer.

‘Ted Dancin’’ hits you with a pulsing synth from the first moment that will get your head moving. This moves into a funky melody that sneaks into your bones and makes them move whether you want them to or not. The infectious rhythm of the melody moves through your body and you can’t help but feel happy while listening to it. If you are looking for a song that takes you away from the humdrum of the daily grind, this is the one you want.

While the horns and drums of the melody make you move, the vocals hit you with more fun vibes. They first ask you why you dance and then shove you onto the dancefloor for an uncontrolled mishmash of movement. You are going to find yourself doing what the lyrics tell you and that is to dance like nobody’s watching. There is so much energy in this track that even if you didn’t feel like moving, you are filled with the need to. The ending does give you a chance to breathe, but you are likely to be panting on the floor by this point.

Colonel Mustard & The Dijon 5 get you moving uncontrollably to the infectious beat of ‘Ted Dancin’’. The track has this funk melody that fills you with energy while the vocals pump everything into overdrive. The unrelenting energy and exuberance of this track are like a mini-festival coming through your speakers.
